65,000 workers leaving the industry every year
With 65,000 Aged Care workers leaving the sector every year, the new Labour Government needs to act quickly to avoid a drastic reduction in the standard of care. In the lead up to the federal election, the incoming Albanese government committed to importing Aged Care workers from overseas to fill the rapidly increasing vacancies but unless they act quickly to amend migration laws, it will be too late with staff shortages already doubling since the depths of the coronavirus pandemic.
